What Is the Diamond Taxi Test?
The Diamond Advanced Taxi Test is recognised by Wakefield Council and many others across the UK. It’s designed to check that you can drive to a safe and professional standard when transporting passengers.
You’ll need to show that you’re calm, in control, and fully aware behind the wheel — not just capable of driving, but driving with skill and care.
What the Test Involves
The test lasts about 45 minutes and is conducted on a variety of road types. You’ll drive through real traffic situations, respond to hazards, and complete a reverse manoeuvre.
Passing requires no serious or dangerous faults and no more than nine minor errors.
